Throwback Thursday: Hydel's Huge 4x400m Win In 2023

* Last year's girls high school Championship of America Final at the Penn Relays presented by Toyota

When it comes to the Penn Relays, one of the most exciting events to experience is the 4x400m.

Although the collegiate level is intense to watch, there is something about the high school divisions that seems to always get the crowd going.

Jamaica is known to bring many talented teams to the Penn Relays and it definitely shows in the records and history books. The winners of the Championship of America finals (4x100m and 4x400m) from the last decade have almost been exclusively won by Jamaican schools and teams.

The 2023 Penn Relays were no different, as we saw the girls team from Hydel (JAM) edge out the second and third-place teams at the tape. Winning the finals with a mark of 3:35.63 in the 4x400m.

Hydel is set to return this year, but our eyes are on a serious contender for this year's title.

Finishing third place last year in the finals, Bullis School (MD) currently has the U.S. No.1 mark coming into the meet, with a time of 3:35.23, which already gives them a faster mark than Hydel's winning time from last year.

It's safe to say that this year's Championship of America 4x400m final is going to be an exciting battle, and you can catch it all live by clicking on the link below.
